Bourbon and Baker is a Tapas restaurant that is located in Downtown Manhattan. It is the perfect spot for my husband and me to go when we both are not sure what we want but know we want a GREAT meal. Some of our favorites are the Asparagus Fries, Sliders, and the Shrimp and Grits. The bakery is located in the back of Bourbon and Baker makes it easy to also enjoy a dessert or grab something to take home. Their Strawberry and Champagne cookies are a must, but if you get a chance for their Maple Bourbon Cinnamon Rolls grab those too! So Long Saloon is located in Aggieville and its menu allows you to indulge in some of the juiciest burgers, hearty sandwiches, and health-ish salads Manhattan has to offer! Once you try their Raspberry Black Bean Dip you will crave it, trust me! So Long Saloon also serves the best fried pickles in town, in my humble opinion. My go-to is their Crank it Up and Head South Burger, which has just enough of a kick and their french fries are perfect every time! My husband always seems to crave whatever their daily special once we walk past the daily special board on our way in! Taco Lucha is Mexican food with a twist! As soon as you walk thru the door you know that you are somewhere unique! Taco Lucha is located right behind So Long Saloon in Aggieville and it has an amazing patio area! A favorite is their tacos, in particular, their Peanut Butter Steak taco. You read that right, peanut butter plus steak topped with pickles make for some of the best tacos you will taste. You will also want to make sure you try one of their tasty beverages. If you have a tough time choosing, the Nancy is one to try. If you are coming hungry, go for The Beast, it is a huge burrito served with eggs, beans, and Luchas Tators. Taco Lucha is full of unique flavors that will keep you coming back for more! El Patron features classic Mexican meals some of our favorites here are the fajitas, street tacos, and their burritos. OMG, the burritos are amazing! Their Brunch menu includes Chilaquiles, Huevos Con Chorizo, and a Grilled breakfast burrito that is one of our favorite burritos in town! El Patron also has a party room in case you want a private space to enjoy a meal with friends or family! Fair warning, their portions are as big as their flavors, which are HUGE!! El Patron is located in downtown Manhattan, Ks, and is a great spot to enjoy a meal and then explore all that downtown has to offer. La Fiesta is another townie favorite! They have one of the biggest spaces in town so that makes it easy if you need to get in for a quick bite or sit back and enjoy an evening out with friends! Not only do we always have to order the cheese dip and Guac, but it is also a constant debate on what to order for our meals. On constant rotation for us are their fajitas, Chilaquiles Mexicanos, Pollo a La Parrilla, and for my husband, it's their cheesesteak burrito! They have delicious flour and corn tortillas that they make fresh in-house so you can't go wrong with their tacos! We even order some tortillas to take home since fresh is always best! Make sure you check out their specials for Margarita's, they have huge! The Little Grill is the place to go if you are craving some delicious Jamaican Jerked food. The Little Grill is a favorite especially in the summertime for the lake go-ers coming in from Tuttle Creek. Besides the Jerk Chicken and Pork for our main meals, we always order at least one basket of their Soldier Wings. They are some of the best wings in town, crispy and covered in Caribbean seasonings. They are delicious! If you really want to take yourself back to your last trip to the islands, order yourself a glass of their Rum Punch! You will be glad you did!! Also, don't be surprised if you are treated to a musical performance. The owner, Kenrick loves to keep his guests entertained, it completes the vibe of The Little Grill which is one of the reasons we love to go there. Little Apple Brewing Company has been open in Manhattan since 1995 and has always provided the area with some of the best steaks, burgers, pasta dishes, and even seafood in town. Little Apple Brewing Company serves Angus beef which is raised locally. Little Apple has been offering farm-to-table options since before it was on trend! Constantly evolving they now have a meat market that provides local beef, cheeses, and sustainable seafood options for purchase! While we always enjoy their steaks, some of our other favorites are their Buffalo Wings, Baked Feta, Apple Cider Pork Chop, Carbonara, and their Lobster Rolls! They also have great to-go options if you want a quick curbside pick-up option! Tallgrass Taphouse offers a variety of menu options as well as a rotating menu of craft brew! Their menu features some great appetizers, we love the wings, lettuce wraps, and pretzels with pub cheese! For me, I always order the Udon Noodles for my meal at the Taphouse. This dish is my go-to year-round, but especially when it is cold out! Some other favorites are the Miso Salmon, Tap Mac, and the Fish-n-Chips! Tallgrass Taphouse diners can enjoy the outdoor patio, dining on the main level with views of the brewing tanks, or up a flight upstairs that overlooks the main area to the rooftop. When the weather allows the Tallgrass Rooftop is the place to go and enjoy your dinner or drinks while taking in the sweeping views of downtown Manhattan and KS Hill! The Chef Cafe is the breakfast hotspot in town! If you are an early riser you can normally get a table pretty quickly, but if you prefer to sleep in be prepared to wait! While they do have extra seating on the patio when the weather allows, it is an incredibly popular place so like I said, if you want to sleep in be prepared! Voted one of the best breakfasts in the State, The Chef is a must for locals! They have an amazing selection on their menu if you are looking for Breakfast, Brunch, or Lunch! We enjoy their Frittata's, Biscuits and Gravy, quesadillas, and their daily specials that offer unique flavors! Also, take time to check out the co*cktails on their super fun drink menu! Umi is a local Japanese Steakhouse that offers Sushi, Hibachi, and a full menu for guests to order from! The locals in Manhattan constantly vote UMI as their favorite Japanese and Asian Cuisine in town. It makes for a great spot for lunch or for a celebration. For a truly unique dining experience, you can choose to dine at their Sushi Bar and watch their trained Chefs make your Sushi right in front of you! As most of you might expect, their portions are huge so come hungry and leave full and happy!One thing that is 100% sure about Manhattan, Kansas, this is a foodie town!
